ROMAN FORUM
The archaeological area of the Forum Romanum is open to the public free. Indeed this area has became a public garden open from morning to
sunset.
PALATINE HILL
Ticket is required to visit the Palatine Hill (the Emperor's Palace and site of
Romulus'Rome) where the Palatine Museum has just been reopened (4th Oct 1997) after 14 years. Also the Renaissance and beautifully decorated "Loggia
Mattei" on the Palatine (the Loggia has never been open to the public before) is now
visible.
COLOSSEUM
A ticket in necessary to visit the Colosseum.
BUSES TO TIVOLI AND VILLA ADRIANA
The buses to Tivoli and Villa Adriana used to leave from Rebibbia Coach Station.
This station has been moved to "Ponte Mammolo". Both "Ponte
Mammolo" and "Rebibbia" are also metro stops on the metro line B
(Rebibbia is the last stop and Ponte Mammolo is the previous one). So, to get the bus to Tivoli and Villa Adriana get off at "Ponte
Mammolo".

GALLERY
Due to the
large number of visitors and the limited admittance number (for security reasons), it is necessary to book your ticket at least one day in advance. Reservations can be made at the number:
06-32810 (from the US dial 011-39-0632810) from Monday to Friday from 9:30am-6pm (or directly on-site at the ticket office).
Note: The Borghese Gallery is closed on Mondays. |

Romanum and Palatine Hill
Vast archaeological site, the heart of the ancient city, dating from the
period of the kings to the emperors. Important buildings include the
Curia, the temples of Vespasian, Antoninus and Faustina, the House of
the Vestals, the Basilica of Constantine and the arches of Septimius
Severus and Titus.
Colosseum
The amphitheatre begun AD 72 by the emperor Vespasian and continued by
his successor Titus on the site of the gardens of Nero's Golden Palace.
