Her English was specially easy to understand (we went on a ROME AT NIGHT tour and the guide's English sounded more like Italian and was so hard to understand that we really appreciated her tour the next day).
Our stay in Florence was also great and well planned. Mr. Ugo's tours were very interesting and he showed us alot in a very short time and was very helpful.

I am very happy to give Sergio my very highest recommendation.

Several years ago, I took my 8 sisters to Italy (yes, there are 9 sisters ...and 3 brothers... in my family). We hired Sergio as our guide in Rome. Before we arrived in Rome, he planned our days for us based on our interests. I approved the itinerary in advance. He met us each morning at the hotel and led us through Rome for 3 days from around 8:30 to 6:30 each day. He was always in the lobby when the first of us arrived. We never waited for him...he always was waiting for us. He was very personable and got to know each of us. He was very kind to one of my sisters who is mentally handicapped, and would sit and talk with her when the rest of us were studying things that were beyond her understanding. He was very flexible and would modify the itinerary as the day progressed if we wanted to spend more or less time at one of the places we visited. He made arrangements for a guide with special knowledge of the Vatican museum to take over when we visited there.

Sergio also made all transportation arrangements for us while in Rome and between Rome and Florence. It all happened like clockwork. He arranged for a driver to meet us when we arrived at the airport. While in Rome, we walked most places, but, when necessary, he had a mini-bus waiting for us or he organized several cabs or he led us through the subway. I originally planned for us to take the train to Florence, but Sergio suggested that, for the same price, he could arrange for a small bus to take us to Florence by way of Siena. It was a great suggestion as Siena is a beautiful little city and we saw much more of the countryside on the bus! Our bus driver served as our guide in Siena. I left a small bag on the bus in Florence. Sergio retrieved it from the bus driver and mailed it back to my home.

In summary, Sergio was a highlight of our trip! He was thorough, friendly, knowledgeable, timely and trustworthy. He takes great pride in his city and in delivering outstanding service.

In case you might be concerned about sending funds in advance to him (as I was), I can assure you that there is no reason for concern at all.

Just wanted to take a moment to tell you how wonderful and great all the tours you arranged for us were. We enjoyed each and everyone of them in their own way. 
We really loved Mauro, Gino and Sara. We had such a
*great* start in Rome and immensely enjoyed hanging out with Mauro all day. Walking around Rome was not a problem at all and we feel we learned so much more than any self walking tour could have ever provided! 
We both love Mauro!

Pompeii and the Archaelogical Museum in Naples was great fun with Gino. We definitely enjoyed his unique character...Not to mention the direct convenience of the limo from Rome to Pompeii! Then in Florence Sara was very informative and the location so beautiful, but we *LOVED* the tour at the winery. I believe this was the recommendation of the driver Piero and we couldn't have been more pleased to visit Castella della Paneretta. It was definitely the highlight of our honeymoon. We loved the wine tasting and immediately purchased some of their excellent Chianti!
It was such a great learning experience and the proprietors were so eager to show us the wine making process and to explain the historical significance of the castle and the location. You should make this a regular part of anyone who wants to visit a Tuscany winery. That was definitely a very unique and memorable experience we will NEVER forget! Again, transportation in the Mercedes was superb!

Near the end of the vacation we were a little disappointed that we had completed all our scheduled tours. When we went exploring on our own in Florence and Rome near the end, we both very much noticed the absence of our tour guides who felt like old friends...how much we enjoyed having someone accompany us to provide the color and zest of understanding for what was before us. Each experience was so unique and each one a delightful discovery on its own. We both agreed halfway through and by the end of the trip that the personal tours were worth their weight in gold for the savings in time of possibly getting lost and efficiency in understanding all the sights of Italy. 
We had so much to see in 10 days! We both loved Italy so much we are already talking about returning to visit other cities we did not get a chance to explore.
Namely Naples, Venice and Pisa. I would even consider exploring more of Florence, especially the Tuscany region again myself!

To summarize, I am so glad I found you last minute via the internet and I cannot thank you enough for putting our itinerary together on such last minute notice! It was somewhat of a whirlwind immediately before and after the wedding, but we cannot express enough to you how pleased we were with everything. We do not hesitate to recommend you to anyone thinking of taking tours of Italy and you can definitely use us as a reference for anyone having questions regarding your top notch service. Our transfer from the airport, and driver both days, Raphael, was so pleasant and willing to make that one extra stop or find us that perfect vantage point. How he remains so calm and centered in Roman traffic is beyond me! Along with Raphael, Mauro toured us our first day in Italy. His insight to the churches, fountains, and art work was so fun and interesting. Touring with him was sort of like Intro. to Roman Art 101. His facts and explanations actually left us with a keener eye to enjoy the art we would see in Italy. Our second touring day with R.M.T.M. began with Grazia's tour of the Borghese Gallery. How sweet is she?! Her art/history background and her passion for the art she showed us was contagious! Even though the museum was busy, we felt so special as she smiled her warm smile and shared her little secrets about the paintings and sculptures. Similarly, Anna kept us hanging on her every word as she wound us through the Catacombs of Priscilla. The history that she explained made the past come alive for us! Last but not least.... Fulvio.... what a blast! To use his favorite word, he gave us a day that was "fantastic!" His unending explanations, his brilliant insights and historical expertise, were even further enhanced by his sense of fun, love of accents (which I love too) and the way he gallantly gave my mom his arm as she tired at Ville D'Este gardens! We enjoyed sharing lunch with him (wonderful conversation) - oh yes, thanks Sergio for the "perfect" restaurant choice you made for us there in Tivoli. The food, service, and lovely outdoor scenery were more than we hoped for! 

So... thanks to Rome Made to Measure, our trip started off perfectly, and continued to go beautifully throughout the remaining weeks we visited Italy's south... from Rome to lovely Sorrento through the breathtaking Amalfi Coast, to Maratea, to meeting our wonderful family in Calabria, to the restful, beautiful beach in Ricadi! Nice country you have there! Please pass along my greetings and best wishes to all the friends I've mentioned, and thank them all for our wonderful memories!   Just wanted to tell you what a excellent tour guide Barbara is!  She was so informative and we learned so much about Rome's art and history.  She was very warm and friendly with a good sense of humor.  We really enjoyed her company and she made us feel very comfortable.  Her descriptions of ancient Rome and it's people made us feel as if we were transported back in time.  She spoke with such feeling and enthusiasm.  Her knowledge of Rome and it's history and art was greatly appreciated.  She has such a gift and we want to thank her again for making our tour so very special.  We have memories that we will never foget.

I just got back from Rome, Italy and took the Angels and Demons Tour offered by Mr. Sergio Caggia's company, Nerone and Rome Made to Measure at nerone@nerone.cc  The tour lasted 8+ hours for us, or they can split it up into two 6 hour days, depending on the clients schedule. Let me put it this way, If you liked this book, you will love this tour! Sergio's guides, we had Mauro, are University graduates, extremely qualified,can get you in to places you could never get to on you own, and make this book come alive. The way I figured it, this tour saved us at least three days of trying to do on our own, as the cab drivers had never heard of some of the locations. This great book is worth a trip to Rome.

Rome a city exuding with history, one that has great mystery and curiosities. Now lets see it from a different perspective, that of Dan Brown” Angels and Demons”.
Roaming the Sistine Chapel, getting the history of the Vatican and a layout of the city, then reliving the steps that directly related to the book, was absolutely amazing. You became an observer to the event and the characters moved around you. Different sights surged into your mind and what you imagined has now become real. The Castel St. Angelo, as you ran up the steps, your heart was beating with terror. The view clear across the city of the Vatican, spectacular ! But for me being a former art student the marble sculptures, still baffle me … the most beautiful piece I have ever seen in all of my travels, truly is Ecstasy of St. Teresa. As I have stated before, I have been to Rome before, many times, and this is something I never even read about in any tour book. Don’t do a less expensive self-guided tour, this one will truly, without doubt be the highlight of your visit to Rome.

I booked this tour with Sergio and Mauro was my private guide. I have been to Rome several times and for me this was a new way to see the city. Mauro’s knowledge, of the sights and the history amazed me, and being one on one, I had lots of time to ask questions, that may have not pertained to the book, but was something on the guide.

The two days that we toured with both Mauro and Isabella were beyond Super! My husband and I learned so much, and we would never have "experienced" parts of Rome on our own with books like we did with our guides. I really wish we would have had a week.

Sometimes when traveling with your younger children, it makes it hard to get in an adult trip, one where we really feel great about where we went and what we experienced, but Mauro and Isabella were very understanding with our family and did great to move us along throughout the day and share their knowledge with us - I really can't thank them enough!

I tried to phone you while we were in Italy to let you know that we had the most wonderful two days with Lino, but I couldn't get on to you. We returned yesterday to Australia and I was keen to let you know that our tours with Lino in Rome were the highlight of our whole time in Italy. Lino's knowledge of the Vatican is amazing, the whole family got so much out of the day. Then the next day when Lino took us on the Ancient Rome tour he brought the Roman Forum and the Colosseum to life. For the rest of our time in Italy every time we were in a place of interest we all wished that Lino was with us to tell us the history. Please pass on our thanks to Lino for making our time in Rome so special. I would recommend your company and Lino to anyone traveling to Italy, I wish that I had used you for the rest of our trip.
Having a private guide is the best way for a family to see the sites. After Rome we went to Pompeii where we didn't have a guide or go on a tour. The whole time we were in Pompeii we wished that we had Lino to bring the ancient ruins to life for us as Lino had done in Rome with the Roman Forum and the Colosseum.

"We were planning a trip to Rome and did not quite know what to expect when we were told that our guide Francesca be used to working with children. Our two girls, 6 and 12 years and our boy 10 years were experienced travelers, but had not really been guided through ruins and art before. Wandering through the Coliseum and Forum Romano for a few hours keeping them interested when one is keen to learn about Gladiators and death and the other about the people and the birds took some real skill to handle. All this while keeping the parents engaged in as well. The following day would be the real test. The Vatican museum and the Sistine Chapel for three hours! It was all wonderful. By focusing on captivating details about the ordinary life of the ancient people or the particular skills of an artist and by showing where the Pope lives and what the world map looked like 500 years ago we marched through the hallways in good condition to take a stroll around San Peter's Basilica and Square. The best part was when our son came out from the Chapel having just hear Francesca's description about the Final Judgment and out came a confession and fear of the consequences. It was all really sweet. Talk about the impact of history on the youth!"

We would warmly welcome Francesca to families with children of all ages and event with little exposure to culture focused travel. She takes great care of a detail hungry group of grown ups as well. Francesca's pleasant and adaptive style made the days in Rome really memorable.

It was one of the best 'city' holidays we have had and we saw a fantastic mix of architecture, art and history. I think the Villa Giulia in the Villa Borghese Park was one of the most fascinating places. It was lovely and quiet, the garden was pretty and of course the Etruscan art was stunning. And the Gallery Borghese was astonishing. The trip to the Vatican was also special, and I was delighted to realise my ambition to look at the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel on my birthday. But I think the most brilliant visits were to the churches around the city where we saw Carrevaggio's paintings and Bernini sculptures. It was just unbelievable seeing these masterpieces 'in situ' in the places for which they were commissioned.

We really felt we made the best of the five days we had in the city. And I think taking private tours is an exceptionally clever way of ensuring that we saw and heard many things that the average tourist does not enjoy. But there is so much more to see, and when we return we shall be in touch."

We found Rome to be a particularly difficult city in which to get around because it is very old and very large. "Sergio was excellent, and I would highly recommend anyone travelling to Rome to use his services on at least a portion of their visit. My family (with two young children ages 6 and 4) used him one full day and two half days while in Rome. We toured some churches, fountains, Pantheon, and the Borghese Museum on our first full day, we visited the Forum and Colosseum on one half day, and we visited the Vatican museums and St. Peters on the final half day. Our experience with Sergio was just great, he is about 34 yrs old, single, a student of the arts and very knowledgeable. We were in Italy for 10 days and with Sergio for 9 days. We did primarily walking tours of Rome and visited Ascoli Piceno where Sergio found relatives related to my great uncle. Sergio does not drive or have a car so we used public transportation or we walked to the various sites. He was fantastic and BTW I have used one of his competitors in Rome and found there to be NO comparison, Sergio is really great. 
Don't even give a second thought to payment arrangements, if he personally can make time for you, you can trust him implicitly-- I had a hard time forcing him to take the full amount he was entitled to.

As far as sending a deposit in advance, I, too was a bit nervous, but there was no need for concern. Sergio is extremely honest. When we left Rome, I left a backpack behind and Sergio sent it to me, paying the $26 in mailing charges out of his own pocket until I could send the check to repay him.

I want to thank you again for making our trip to rome so wonderful! We just loved the tours - and don't worry about tiring us out - that is just normal traveling! We wouldn't have had it any other way! We ended up having a great time in Florence - the weather was beautiful 
and we went on great tours of the Chianti countryside, Siena, San Gimignano, Pitigliano. We had a great time at the seder - it was run in Italian, Hebrew and English - people from all over the world were there - and we had a friend who is currently studying in Florence who 
came with us. Although I really enjoyed Tuscany, I must admit I am biased towards Rome - the ruins, Bernini, the grand scale of things...even the bread is better in Rome - the downside to Florence (besides the bread!) was that it was overflowing with tourists - it was difficult to even walk down the streets - to avoid the crowds, we went to the lesser known places - Bargello, small churches, artisan workshops, and of course the small towns outside of Florence. I felt more comfortable in Rome, especially since you showed us all the non-touristy things! My mom and I are already dreaming about our return! I brought back so many posters - I am using them in my classroom as I am starting my unit on Medieval Europe. Thanks for your efforts on the hat - my mom ended up getting a cute new one...say hi to Diana...Take care.

Jeff and I wanted to write and thank you for everything you did to make our recent trip to Rome one that we will remember with great delight for many years to come. Everything you arranged for us went smoothly and all of the restaurant recommendations you offered were 
wonderful. Having a contact in Rome who could arrange for airport transportation and tickets made it easy to see the events and sites that we wanted to see (when WE wanted to see them). 
The drivers that you hired were prompt and courteous. When we arrived in Rome tired after an all-night flight, it was a great relief not to have to arrange our own transportation to the hotel. The driver even chose a route into the city so that our first views of the city were of some of the ancient sites -- the Circus Maximus and the Baths of Caracalla. On the return trip, the driver was waiting in the lobby of our hotel a few minutes before the scheduled time and we were at the airport with plenty of time to spare. 
Also, the tickets that you got for the AS Roma soccer game were fabulous -- right down next to the field on the mid-field line. I don't know if you saw the game, but it was a very exciting match. We loved being part of the exuberantly cheering Roma fans for an afternoon. 
But far and away, the high point of our trip was the day we spent with you in the sites of ancient Rome. As our guide, you put a lot of thought and effort into organizing the day so that it would be interesting to both our daughter, Lauren, and to us. Jeff and I learned a tremendous amount -- and so did Lauren. I listened in as she showed pictures of the trip to a friend. It was very interesting to me to hear the things that stuck in her mind -- like the Temple of Hercules, the Mamartine Prison, the carvings on Trajan's column, the significance of the letters S.P.Q.R., the ways that the people of Rome have incorporated the old into the new at every stage of history. The way that you organized the day and explained the sites to us made the confusing jumble of stones and columns come alive for us. And thanks again for the delicious picnic lunch. 
We will definitely use your services again when we go back to Italy and we would be happy to serve as a reference to others who are considering hiring you.
