We have had experience before of welcoming people with special needs. Our guides and drivers can help with operating a mechanical or electric wheelchair and gettin gon and off the vehicle.
For the people who -for different reasons- have walking limitations for a visit of the city centre we can use a golf cart of the kind you see in the picture below

Using a golfcart is an excellent idea if you think you may get tired of walking a long distance. By golfcart you can explore the city centre, stopping at every site for an explaination.
This can be advisable also in case you will be travelling with children who may get tired of long walks. It is also advisable if you wish to cover more ground during an itinerary in the city (versus walking the whole time.) One golf cart sits 4 people maximum (3 passengers and the guide/who will also drive.)
The rental cost of this wehicle is: Euro 100,00 per half-day; Euro 120.00 for the full day. Additional cost for the driver is: Euro 100.00 for half day; Euro 140.00 for the full day.
F.A.Q.:
Golfcarts can be used
to explore the "city centre". What is the city centre?
[Re:]
The city centre of Rome is approx the area within the ancient city
walls. Most of the sites and all the most famous ones (Trevi Fountain,
Spanish Steps, Colosseum, Pantheon, Piazza Navona, Borghese
Gardens, Trastevere) are within this area and actually within an area
of approx 2-3 miles or diametre. St. Peter's Basilica and Vatican area
can also be reached.
What if we want to
see something outside the city centre? Can the golfcarts be
used to go there or would we need to go by van or bus?
[Re:]
while within the city centre the use of the golf cart is comfortable
as we drive through pedestian areas or areas with limited car
traffic and also there is a lot to see at every corner, travel
further (to: ancient Appian way, St. John in Latheran, Catacombs) it
means drive on routed busy with car traffic. This is less relaxing
and safe. So, to travel to some sites I would recommend using either
a limo, or public transportation like buses or taxi.
In
general we suggest the use of the golf cart to those people who have
walking or standing difficulties, to cover those itineraries within
the city centre that we usually do by walk in 3-4 hours (leasure
pace.) To get to a specific site out of town we suggest taxi or limo
to anyone.
