Horseback riding tours of the ancient Appian Way

Meet the guide at the hotel and travel to the horse farm. After the arrival and during the preparation the guide will tell an introducation to the ancient Appian way and the history of the road. Before leaving for the horseback ride the responsible for the horse farm will make sure you know the basic of horseback riding and give instructions and advices to observe during the ride for your safety and the safety of the horse. Caps and provided at the horse farm. We suggest you dress properly for horseback riding (jeans and shoes with a low  heels.) When arriving on the paved path of the ancient Appian way the guide will explain the monuments and remains from ancient times. The ride on horse will be approx 1,5 to 2 hours. Upon returning to the horse farm the hosts will offer you a treat of cookies and refreshment. Pic-nic lunch can also be provided upon request. During the refreshment the guide will tell what happened to the road after the fell of the Roman empire and through the middle ages to our days.

Cost of the tour: E190 (guide service) + costs of the horses (E28 per horse including the horse for the guide.)
