ABOUT CHURCHES OPENING TIMES

Although it's hard to list the opening times of the over 200 churches of Rome, there's a rule that can be followed and which works well. Avoid going at lunch time (12noon-3.30pm) when the churches are generally closed. Go there instead early in the morning (7-10) and in the evening (5pm-6pm). At these times you have more chance to find their doors open.
