A WINDOW ITINERARY

There are three workshops - we say 'botteghe'- whose windows always catch my attention and imagination. I thought it would be a nice idea to tell you their location:   The Cobbler - Via della Volpe, 14 (side street of Via dei Coronari) - Perhaps a hundred wooden lasts for shoes hanging on the wall...    The Dolls - Via di Ripetta, corner Via del Vantaggio - The window on Via del Vantaggio is a curious and grotesque piece of art...you can take your doll here to the 'doll's hospital' to be repaired and hope it will not join the ones in the window!   Carpets on repair - Via del Pellegrino 54-55 - Here they repair carpets and, of course, need coloured threads. All the walls inside are covered by hanging locks of coloured yarn!... a real treat for the eyes.
